Founded in the 19th Century
Rangemore Estate - built up by the Bass Family in the 1800’s and passed down through the generations of Lords Burton is now owned by a family trust and managed from the Estate Office at Knightley Farm on the estate.
Built around the village of Rangemore
At the heart of the estate is the village of Rangemore. Typical of many small villages in rural areas, it has a church, a junior school and a village playing field. Many of the estate's cottages are in the village itself, with others scattered around the area.
Rangemore Estate blends the traditional with the commercial
10 farms with land are tenanted out on a mixture of statutory and farm business tenancies giving the young an entrance or stepping stone up the farming ladder.
Permanent pasture is managed by the estate on short term licences to help graziers and the equine sector.
Woodland is actively managed to produce final hardwood crops taking into account the high visibility to give a blend of shades and colours throughout the season.
30 cottages surplus to the statutory requirements of the estate are actively managed from the estate office and have a high level of occupancy due to attention to detail, prompt action and a policy of continuing to upgrade the quality of the houses to benefit the tenants.
Commercial lettings are increasingly promoted to achieve a balanced portfolio and now number 34 with further opportunities on two sets of farm buildings to actively participate in future business expansion with 42,000 sq ft of space available.
A range of businesses are to be found at Rangemore from a Belgian Chocolate maker, through architects, consulting engineers, plumbing companies, French motor cycle and car parts, an internet educational company, sculptress, training groups and storage, vehicle repairs, survival courses, carpentry and builder.
